Pass It On – as our name suggests – is known for distributing donations of quality winter clothing to homeless people in need. But as we’ve grown as a charity, we’ve learned that there are many other needs and ways to help too. We now distribute, toiletries, food, sleeping bags and other warm items – and we know these will be in great demand this winter.
As well as warm clothing, our top three areas of need are:
Winter warmth items – hats, gloves, socks, boots and rucksacks to store clothing and other items. These items are in especially high demand and are often overlooked as potential donations
Hygiene products – roll on deodorants, toothpaste, tooth brushes, shower gels, lip balms, hand creams, wet wipes, feminine products… These are all expensive items for homeless people, and are greatly appreciated – so if you’ve run out of spare warm clothing, please consider adding a donation of new toiletry products, or adding some to your clothing bundle too.
Note we can only accept donations of new unopened / unused hygiene items.
Snacks and high calorie – chocolate, jelly sweets, cereal bars, crisps, nuts, and dried fruit, bottled water and soft drinks. Eating healthily on the streets is a major challenge – so foods that can be eaten without cooking, and which provide high calories are best as donations. We all love chocolate, and items that feel like a treat are especially popular on our city centre visits.
Again – new and unused items only please.
